Liquid Phase Displacement (Picnometer)
Picnometer method is to put powders and a solvent in a cell, vacuum to spread the solvent into pores and between particles, add solvent to a certain level, and measure the weight and temperature of the liquid. Specific gravity can be calculated from the weight of the liquid replaced to the powders. It is suitable for dry powders.

Gas Phase Displacement
Gas phase displacement is to change volume and pressure of He gas at a certain temperature and calculate volume of powders using Boyle's law. After calculating the volume, measure the weight and then calculate density of powders. It is suitable for solid materials and soluble powders.
